'What Good Is Philosophy? – A Benefit Conference for Ukraine’ is an online conference to raise the funds to establish a Centre for Civic Engagement at Kyiv Mohyla Academy. By assisting Ukrainian students and scholars today, this Centre will also help pave the way for a vibrant and engaged post-war Ukraine. Margaret Atwood, Timothy Snyder, Mychailo Wynnyckyj, and Volodymyr Yermolenko are giving the keynote lectures. Peter Adamson, Judith Butler, Sally Haslanger, Timothy Williamson, and the CPA's own Jennifer Nagel and Dominic Lopes are presenting, together with a host of other renowned philosophers. The conference will be produced by the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, and it will be broadcast on their YouTube channel on 17-19 March 2023.

The Canadian Journal of Philosophy provides financial support for philosophical conferences held in Canada. Over the last decade we have contributed almost $70,000 in this way, to a wide range of events. For 2022 we are broadening the scope, to also support pedagogical or other community-building initiatives meant to enhance philosophy in Canada.
